Worldware, Hayes Valley's newest home furnishings and furniture showroom on the corner of Fell and Gough Streets, is currently accepting applications for a full-time Shipping and Receiving Assistant.
Responsibilities:
• Use software to create purchase orders and receive merchandise into our inventory system.
• Open shipments, inspect, price and prepare merchandise for display.
• Contact suppliers regarding breakage or incorrect/incomplete shipments.
• Maintain stock area ensuring merchandise is well organized.
• Pack and ship merchandise using UPS.com.
• Light showroom maintenance—hang paintings, change light bulbs, etc.
• Help unload furniture from delivery truck as necessary
Qualifications:
• Strong organization and clerical skills.
• Basic computer skills are essential, including email and web-based shipping programs.
• Sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Must be able to lift and move boxes and furniture from delivery truck and onto 3 tiered shelves (approx 12’ high).
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Willingness to take pride and ownership of the stock area and its operations.
Worldware is a locally owned and onwer-operated furniture showroom and interior design firm. Our close-knit team of professionals strive to offer a superior shopping experience to our clientelle. This position direclty impacts that ability by maintaining an organized flow of merchandise.
This is a full-time permanent position that offers full medical and dental benefits as well as paid holidays and vacations. Work schedule is Monday through Friday with the occasional need for flexible scheduling.
