Senior Usability Engineer
Palo Alto, California

Responsibilities

•Demonstrated track record of excellence, experience and results
•Commitment to a career of Web Application Usability excellence with at least 10 years of software usability development experience
•Track record of taking responsibility for the usability of the whole product
•Experience delivering user interfaces for web applications based on standard browsers
•Technology skills in broad areas of usability: Java, OO GUI Frameworks, JSP, CSS, DHTML, tag libraries, Spring MVC, Eclipse, AJAX, etc.
•Expertise on building usability designs that work across multiple browsers on non-traditional platforms like cell phones, PDA’s, Linux etc.
•Familiarity with open source user interface technologies & charting technologies
•Familiarity with software development life cycles and agile programming methodologies
•Create compelling web user interface to the Customer Experience Monitor product that is:
oIntuitive for new users
oEfficient for frequent users
oAppropriate for different classes of users, like business users and IT
Personnel
oAttractive visualizations for quick overviews
oPleasurable for all users
•Discover and adopt rich user interface technologies for web applications working with standard browsers
•Invent unique signature visualization artifacts as necessary for our product
•Exercise judgment on usability of our product based on deep understanding of customer use of our product
•Work with software architects to drastically simplify user interactions and write code for the user interface for the product
•Build instrumentation into the product to gather information about the use of our product
•Work with a graphic designer to complete "look & feel" aspects
