Financial Engines has an immediate opening for a Senior UI/Information Designer to create detailed design specifications that will play a large part in designing, building, and testing new and existing products. The position reports to Creative Services and will work with Senior Product Managers to help them complete major initiatives by defining how new features should work across multiple products, drafting detailed requirements, and partnering with design and technology groups through the development phase and product launch.
Responsibilities Include:
· Develop and document high quality, detailed specifications based on the MRD and PRD
· Quickly analyze and comprehend product requirements
· Gather and organize user requirements
· Design task flows and page schematics based on business goals and user needs
· Create sitemaps and wire-frames and give direction to Design to create mock-ups
· Ensure compliance with corporate and product branding standards
Skills/Experience Required:
· 5+ years experience in UI design, technical writing
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human Factors, English, or related area
· Proficient in MS Word, Visio, HTML, Dreamweaver, Photoshop
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Strong attention to detail
· Excellent organizational skills
· Ability to learn and document technical concepts quickly
· Demonstrated experience in documenting detailed product flows including use cases
· Experience managing UI designers
