Senior Technical Director
Supervises the work of other Technical Directors and provides feedback to other team members of the production. Prepares estimated budget per visual shot (personnel/equipment resources). Supervises and coordinates the lighting and design for each visual shot. Designs and creates lighting and the look of computer generated objects and scenes for feature film visual effects. Confers with Technical Directors, managers, and crew members to discuss details of production. Researches, develops, and implements new computer graphics techniques. Determines various design solutions (mattes, paintings, effects, shaders) for digitally composited shots. Develops technical and aesthetic approaches to achieve desired computer graphics effects.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Animation, or related field (or foreign equivalent) plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a Computer Graphics Artist or Instructor/Lecturer (Computer Animation) position
The applicant must have experience working with high performance computer/video software platforms for visual effects production (Renderman, Maya, or SoftImage) and have thorough knowledge of procedural shading language (Unix, shell scripting).
