Chief Technology Officer/Architect

We are a new startup looking to change the face of the WWW as we know it. We’re looking for a seasoned CTO, someone who has incredibly deep knowledge of systems architecture, design, and implementation.
You MUST have built SEVERAL large-scale consumer and commercial web sites that we've heard of. We are putting together a dream team - you should be at the top of your field. You should be confident that you can build a Yahoo!-sized infrastructure capable of serving hundreds of thousands of users simultaneously and tens of millions of logins. It would be ideal, for example, if you have architected and implemented an entire web-based system for a large bank, a popular consumer service, and a huge B2B platform. Academics need not apply.
You should be a GENERALIST, not tied to any particular tools or systems. You should have a strong computer science background, be capable of designing schemas in your sleep, a good appreciation for the RUP, and a handle on all the new tools and libraries out there. You should be very familiar with the way Google's and Yahoo's spiders work. You should have at least played with if not implemented some AJAX applications. You should have a good working knowledge of P2P and XML technologies.
You must be a good manager. We’re looking for someone who can hire and inspire a team of database experts, developers, tool designers, client-side wizards, security and infrastructure demons, librarians, template designers, QA experts, usability gurus, and hard-core hackers.
You'll need to build sophisticated tools and design for the future, since much of what you do will be around for a very long time. You should be able to sell your ideas to others and lead by example.
You can be located anywhere. We don't care. We are pre-funding and putting together our dream team. We have strong interest from top-tier VCs. Now is the time to get in on the ground floor of something very big. You should have unlimited enthusiasm for building large robust systems better than they have ever been built before.
Please - this is not for people with "a lot of potential." We are betting a multi-billion-dollar strategy on finding the right person and building something very big.
