Senior System Engineer
Reply! A rapidly expanding company seeks highly motivated and visionary Senior Network Engineers to build and manage an advanced enterprise level backbone. This is a demanding role that will require solid hands-on expertise with hardware, networking, systems, telecommunications and security. The role reports to the Director of Network Systems and will require someone who can work with little to no supervision.
Job Description
In this job, you will be responsible for day to day operation of Reply, Inc. including maintaining of servers, network, and server applications for co-location, corporate and development environment.
Other duties include:
- Assists in planning, designing and implementing a high quality production environment.
- Recommend, Design and implement Network and Infrastructure enhancements.
- Define and implement best practices for Disaster Recovery and Backups.
- Assists in evaluating, recommending, and selecting equipment, services and vendors.
- Setting up servers, networks, applications, and backup processes
- Assist in Defining and implementing maintenance plan for the system and network environment.
- Help with ongoing network and system projects
Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of server hardware.
- Must have experience with setting up Active Directory, Windows 2000 and 2003.
- Hands-on experience on system administration, server build and server troubleshooting in co-location environments.
- Solid Knowledge of Virtual Private Networks, Web Servers, Application Servers, database Servers and DNS, Exchange server 2003.
- Performance Tuning
- Problem-solving skills.
- Solid knowledge of Web farms, Mail farms and database clustering/farm.
- Solid understanding of Systems and Network protocols including TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, POP, IMAP, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, LDAP, SSL.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment
- Bachelor's degree and minimum 5 years of experience in related field.
- MSCE are desired but not required.
- Prior experience with Internet Companies is a plus.
