This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly qualified lead engineer to manage and lead a team developing back end systems which feed dynamic content to interactive TV applications. The candidate should be a flexible, independent worker as well as an excellent team leader and player and be able to work optimally under schedule deadlines.
This role focuses on back office integration efforts that will enable advanced features to be deployed on the TVWorks Digital Application System.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Technical lead for content handlings systems required to support iTV applications.
• Lead a team of 3 engineers.
• Set and monitor code quality standards
• Mentor team members, providing code level feedback as needed.
• Interface with internal groups, customers and partners – strong hands on experience is a must.
• Work with product and project managers to understand desired features, and provide input on implementation tradeoffs.
• Document designs as needed for internal design reviews and coding.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
• Experience in developing against specifications.
• 2+ years experience as a technical lead or manager
• Expertise in Java, XML, XSLT
• Experience with data extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) tools and/or applications.
• Experience with data modeling a database integration (Oracle/MySQL/Postgres)
• Experience with optimizing data base performance.
• Experience with customer facing projects.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with rapid project cycles.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with large-scale web development projects strongly preferred.
• Experience with at least one J2EE Application Server Environment (i.e. Weblogic, ,Resin, Tomcat)
• Solid experience with Unix (Solaris/Linux)
• Experience in working with mission-critical end-to-end systems in domains such as Interactive TV, Telecommunications, Internet infrastructure, etc.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent required
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION PREFERRED:
• 5+ years of software development experience (Java preferred)
• Knowledge of Formal Software Development Process.
