Instant Message Software Engineer
Postini, the leading service provider of Messaging Management Services, is looking for an extremely capable technologist to be part of the IM Engineering team. This person will help Postini provide the best AS/AV protection for corporate IM as well as the most powerful security and compliance policy management for the customer.
Responsibilities
- The IM Engineer will be responsible for design, development and testing of IM Security and Compliance Policy Management software.
- Work closely with other members of engineering and product management regarding
product development, features, scheduling, etc.
- As a key member of our team, play a role in the evolution of the company's messaging products.
Requirements
- 5-7+ years of software engineering experience working on high volume engines with C or C++. Experience with Java or Perl is a plus.
- Extensive experience with IM protocols is a must. Experience in TCP/IP networking, Firewalls or VPNs is a plus. Experience with Content Filtering, Antivirus, IDS/IPS, SSL, or DNS is highly desirable.
- Strong debugging and problem solving skills.
- Experience with fast-growing, entrepreneurial consumer technology startups.
- A strong, creative, problem solver, self-motivated and tenacious when tackling tough
technical issues.
- A high-integrity team player with tremendous amounts of energy and enthusiasm, and a
high tolerance for the change that is inherent in a fast-paced web-based service provider environment.
- Good prioritization skills, and written and verbal communication skills as well as commitment to schedules are a must.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related field. PhD is a plus.
