For more information, please visit http://www. sri.com/.The Artificial Intelligence Center at SRI International seeks a versatile and highly productive Senior Software Engineer to join a team working on developing a next-generation platform and applications for accelerating mobile access to web services and content. We are working with the telecommunications industry to bring to market SRI innovations in web service coordination, speech recognition, natural language understanding, security, and intelligent agents. You will help architect the overall platform and develop cutting-edge mobile applications.Responsibilities include:* Architecting, designing, implementing and testing extensions to our advanced mobile computing platform* Architecting, designing, implementing and testing new mobile applications featuring multimodal interfaces and accelerated web-service access.* Evaluating and integrating third party applications* Evaluating emerging technologies* Estimate engineering implementation, plan implementation and roll-out changes
* BS in CS or related field, Masters preferred* Minimum five years of experience in a commercial software development setting* Strong record in developing Java based applications.* Strong background in J2SE, web services, and XML* Proven ability to navigate and extend large software projects* Expertise in object oriented design methodology and application development* Experience with mobile applications and collaborative knowledge management* Some background related to artificial intelligence (e.g. machine learning, ontologies, planning, natural language, speech recognition)* Additional development experience related to web technologies, search engines, and user interface is a plus.* Good attention to detail and have high standards for quality* Excellent verbal and written communications skillsThis position requires enthusiasm, verve, and a willingness and ability to undertake a significant system building effort.
BS in Computer Science or related field, Masters preferred
