DESCRIPTION
Equilar, a profitable and rapidly growing information services company headquartered in San Mateo, is seeking a Senior QA Engineer with a proven track record to join an established, bright and focused team in helping develop multi-tiered Web and desktop applications. The ideal hands on candidate is skilled at effectively planning and implementing all matters related to the software QA process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain test plans, testing strategies, use cases, test cases, unit tests, test data, matrices, and other QA related documentation.
Take ownership of defect tracking and regularly publish reports on progress and results
Design, plan and implement testing and coordinate with other departments
Identifies and champions key quality and performance issues in new products
Investigate, select and implement automated testing solutions using scripting and load testing tools
REQUIREMENTS
Must have solid understanding of QA test methodologies
Strong understanding of and experience with Windows (WIN2k, WinXP) and Linux operating systems
Hands-on experience with systems administration as it applies to testing enterprise level applications (e.g. configuring web/application servers, databases, deploying builds etc.)
Minimum 5 years commercial QA engineering experience
Hands-on experience working with automation tools such as Silk and Mercury
Experience with bug tracking systems like Bugzilla
Experience writing automation scripts using Perl, etc.
Experience with Source Code Control systems like Perforce, CVS, etc.
Experience with build scripts using Ant, etc.
Experience with Java/J2EE web/desktop applications
Small company experience is a plus
Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects in a fast paced and dynamic environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized with an eye for detail
