PaymentOne, an innovative leader in digital commerce, has an immediate opening for a Senior QA Engineer at our San Jose facility. PaymentOne has solutions that make playing or downloading music, movies, or games profitable for merchants and affordable for consumers. This position will be responsible for testing our payment processing, validation, offer management, and identity verification services.
You will work closely with software engineers and product managers to design, document, and implement automated tests that exercise PaymentOne services. Specific testing includes end-to-end public API functional and load tests, Web UI verification, and Report generation. You will enhance our automated testing framework to support new PaymentOne services.
You will be responsible for maintaining and expanding the QA environment. This requires setting up Tomcat webapps, Java applications, third-party packages, scripts, and databases. We run in a heterogeneous environment of Linux, Windows, and Solaris machines.
Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of QA experience testing server-side applications. 3+ years experience testing web-based UIs. You need a solid understanding of n-tier architectures, Java, and SQL to create effective tests in our environment. 3+ years experience writing scripts for functional and load tests (e.g., perl, python, shell).
The goal of our testing infrastructure is to automate as much as possible and build a growing suite of tests that exercise all major services. Some manual testing is required, especially as a prerequisite for building new automated tests.
This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills. You will need to work closely with developers to reproduce errors and verify corrections. All defects and enhancements will be logged in Bugzilla.
B.S. in Computer Science or a related field.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL (especially Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle). Experience testing real-time and batch processes in a Linux, Windows, and Solaris environment. Experience with testing tools such as Grinder and IE Unit. Understanding of CORBA, XML, SOAP, and Web Services.
Experience working with open source software, concurrency, and middleware. Familiar with payment processing, billing, validation, and customer management applications.
Prior programming experience in a Java environment with SQL is a big plus.
