JOB DESCRIPTION:
Population Health and Prevention’s Community Behavioral Health Services, South of Market Mental Health Services, is accepting applications for a 39 hours per week position in class 2932 Senior Psychiatric Social Worker/2935 Senior Marriage, Family & Child Therapist to serve as the Project Director for the Filipino American Counseling & Treatment Team (FACT). Specific duties and worksites may vary based on the needs of the client population. This position requires Tagalog and English language fluency.

The position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Appointment Type: Permanent and Provisional applicants encouraged to apply. Provisional applicants must participate in a Civil Service examination for this job classification to become permanent.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Supervises other licensed social workers and non-licensed staff.
• Assigns and directs the work of other clinical and administrative staff.
• Provides a range of mental health services including psychiatric intake, differential diagnosis, individual/group counseling & therapy, intensive case management, urgent care, crisis intervention, and monitoring of psychiatric medications.
• Maintains clinical records and other necessary paperwork in a timely manner to keep cases in compliance with all administrative regulations.
• Manages program development and implementation.
• Coordinates and interfaces with private and public programs and agencies.
• Performs special program assignments.
• Assists in the development of protocols and practices.
• Assists with program compliance and quality assurance standards and reviews and follows up as appropriate with administrative and productivity reports.
• May substitute for the Center Director at various administrative meetings and give information presentations.
• Performs related duties ad required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Possession of a current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners (BBSE) or possession of a current Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) license issued by the BBSE; AND
2. Two (2) years of post-masters psychiatric social worker experience in a psychiatric or medical setting.

Verification/Waiver: Verification of qualifying experience, education, and/or training is required at the time of filing. Candidates unable to do so may submit a letter requesting a waiver of this requirement indicating the reason(s) verification cannot be obtained. Failure to submit verification or request for waiver will result in application rejection.

Special Condition: This position requires Tagalog and English language fluency. Successful candidates must take and pass a Tagalog language test.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• 2 years experience in intensive case management services desired.
• 2 years experience in a supervisor capacity.
• Knowledge of the mental health, social and cultural needs of Filipino communities.
• Ability to work with a diverse inner city population.
• Ability to work in a team approach.
