The primary functions of this position include project management, client management and team leadership. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated client solutions and achieve the expected business results. The Senior Project Manager will work very closely with Client Services, Product Marketing, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Finance, Marketing, Sales, and other key groups within the company. The Senior Project Manager will need to lead these complex, multi-track projects to an acceptable level of risk by balancing scope, time, cost and quality while maintaining a positive environment that promotes individual development and high performance standards. He/she should be able to quickly grasp complex business and technology problems and drive them to resolution.
Responsibilities
· Adapts and applies the Financial Engines Deployment methodology to meet project objectives and achieve expected client business results
· Ensures stakeholder objectives are aligned
· Builds and structures the project team to ensure maximum performance
· Provides purpose, direction and motivation to team
· Manages third-party partner and/or vendor relationships, as necessary
· Maintains awareness of the current industry environment that shapes opportunities for client solutions (i.e. news events, trends, mergers, etc.)
· Responsible for being well versed (functionally and technically) with respect to all Financial Engines products in order to address feature or functionality questions by partners and drive the walk-through and finalization of product configuration requirements
· Contributes to the ongoing development of the Project Management domain and community at Financial Engines
· Participates in project reviews of other Financial Engines projects
Qualifications
· 7 + years of successful project management experience preferably with 3 to 4 years experience within benefits systems implementation or administration is preferred
· 3 years of client management experience with accountability for senior client relationships
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills – effectively communicate across numerous functional areas and strong public presentation skills required.
· Led diverse teams of people in dynamic and fast-paced environments
· Experienced multiple full project lifecycles from business development to final delivery
· Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously (preferably in an integrated program)
· Experience in benefits systems implementation or administration is preferred.
· Experience with distributed, enterprise solutions
· Former consulting experience preferred
· Limited Travel will be required
· Very strong MS project knowledge
· Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
