The Senior Network Engineer (Web) will be responsible for day to day, hands on maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrading and issue resolution in a large-scale high availability 24x7 E-Commerce web environment. This is a senior position on a highly experienced Operations team. The right candidate must be a self-starter, and be able to manage and prioritize many tasks at any given time. In depth knowledge of Window 200x, IP networking, Web service architecture, .NET framework, SQL database, Microsoft BackOffice Suite and Active Directory engineering required for this position. You will also be responsible for network, operating system, database connection and application troubleshooting, and work closely with DBA and Development groups. Ideal candidate must have solid a foundation in Windows security fundamentals, networking, TCP/IP, Compaq/HP server technology, clustered Microsoft server technology and IIS web services.
Day-to-day duties include (and not limited to):
• Maintain and manage a large-scale Windows 200x web farm and troubleshoot and resolve production problems in a timely manner.
• Recommend, plan and implement server hardware and software upgrades in a high-availability IIS Web farm using industry best practices with minimal downtime.
• Coordinate all release activities into production environment.
• Automate systems monitoring tasks using standard monitoring tools.
• Ensures the development and use of an effective preventive maintenance program suitable to meet the operation objective of "99.9% availability".
• Responsible for proactively managing and optimizing sites and systems.
• Assist in planning, designing and implementing a high quality production environment.
• Assist in evaluating, recommending, and selecting equipment, services and vendors.
• Maintain and update documentation of the computing environment.
• Travel to Esurance datacenters for the deployment of the server architecture.
• As a member of the team will take part in on-call rotation and respond to system problems on a 7X24 basis.
• Minimum 7 years hands-on experience in system administration, server build and server troubleshooting in large collocation environments. Solid understanding of LAN/WAN technologies. Experience with performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in a large scale mission-critical production environment using Microsoft web technologies - Windows 200x, .NET and IIS, Clustered SQL Servers.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience designing and managing server farms running .NET and COM+ application for E-commerce systems infrastructure.
• Solid background on TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting in a Microsoft Windows networking environment.
• Strong knowledge of NetIQ monitoring software is highly preferred.
• Experience with Compaq/HP server hardware, SAN and business suite management software.
• Experience setting policies, procedures, network software and hardware standards, documentation standards.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP and security best practices with Windows 2000/2003.
• Familiarity with Unix systems (Linux/Redhat & Solaris) and ability to provide basic support on those platforms is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to demonstrate leadership capability and provide mentoring for team members.
• Proven ability to drive a plan to completion
Skills required: ASPX/HTML, Windows 200x, IIS, Compaq/HP server technology and fluent in at least one scripting language such Java Script or VB Script.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Computer Science or equivalent job experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS CCNA and MCSE required, CCNP desirable
