We are currently seeking an innovative Sr. Designer based in San Francisco. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with high energy level, a passion for the creative medium, and a willingness to do what it takes to create great work.
Responsibilities:
· Develop the graphic look, feel and user interface for all LookSmart sites
· Understand and translate strategic goals and business requirements into visually compelling layouts and online user experiences.
· Concept, design and produce web site templates, page layouts etc.
· Communicate design concepts and strategies, verbally and visually.
Requirements:
· Minimum of 6 years’ of web design experience
· 2 years’ experience coding HTML/XHTML
· Excellent web navigation, user-centered design and information design experience. Thorough knowledge of web usability issues, trends, and opportunities a must.
· Experience designing online marketing and advertising including animated gif and flash ads, targeted landing pages, site promotions and page layouts.
· Demonstrated strategic thinking, and creative problem solving abilities, to assist in meeting strategic goals.
· Extremely organized and efficient, with strong attention to detail and abiliity to work on muliple projects at once, meeting tight deadlines.
· Mastery of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
· Adept in converting source file graphics to file formats for use on the Web
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Proficient with CSS
· Strong experience working in a team-based production environment
· Works well in a highly collaborative environment
