Position: Senior Application Software Developer

Job Responsibilities:
Assist in development of server code that collects and processes data from ad-hoc networks of distributed wireless sensors. Improve system scalability to support large sensor networks comprising thousands of nodes and multiple, unreliable communication channels.

Required Technical Skills and Experience:
• Fluency in the LabVIEW.
• Fluency in at least one system programming language such as C/C++, C#.
• Ability to generate portable, high-performance, well-documented, production-quality code in these environments in the face of demanding deadlines.
• Machine learning techniques such as pattern recognition and classification.

Desirable Knowledge and Experience:
• SQL database skills, specifically Microsoft SQL Server.
• Work on self-organizing sensor networks.
• Work on acoustic propagation models.
• Work on active noise cancellation.
• Strong mathematics background.
• Experience with real-time signal processing techniques such as short-time Fourier and wavelet transforms, peak finding and waveform envelope characterization.

Character skills:
• Self-motivated and self-directed; highly effective in a fast-paced start-up company.
• Able to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
• Able work effectively in a small, distributed team.
• Some travel will be required for this position.

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree with excellent grades from a top engineering program.
• An advanced degree in a relevant area is desirable but not required.
• Exceptional candidates with a background in math or the physical sciences and strong programming skills are encouraged to apply.

Special requirements:
Candidates must be a US Citizen and should either possess or be willing and able to obtain a security clearance should it be required.
