OBJECTIVE: This position is for an individual who wants growth opportunity into Berkeley Farms management Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monthly close, journal entries, account reconciliation, financial reporting
and assisting with the annual audit.
Assist the Controller in preparing financial statements, Coordinate month-
end and year-end close.
Maintain and reconcile job cost and related schedules.
Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules
Record, reconcile, monitor, and analyze all sales and cost accounting
transactions.
Verify and Analyze Cost of Goods Journal Entries at Month end
Review Raw Materials and Product Pricing and Profitability
Reconciles milk purchased with payments to producers and assists with
account closing related to inventory
Prepares raw milk reports as required by appropriate State Department and
receives raw milk production reports, and prepare requests for milk payments
Review and explain Sales, Cost of Goods Sold Variances on both Prices and
Volumes
Identify and champion accounting process and procedures to improve efficiency
Help develop Yearly budgets
Prepare weekly/ monthly Costing Variance reconciliation, margin costing
analysis, track & report product margin.
Assist management in new business project analysis and margin management
Lead or assist in any Berkeley Farms projects
QUALIFICATIONS:
Business Degree, with finance or accounting major
CPA or CMA is a plus
Must have extensive experience in costing & general ledger work (min 5 years)
Must be able to present information to and work with various level of
audience
JD Edwards, Ross Rams experience is a plus
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software
Must have the ability to work as a team good interpersonal and
communication skills required
Must have a valid drivers license and have the ability to travel to Branch
sites
This is a hands-on position. The Candidate must be available to travel out
of town to assist the inventory Count process approximately once a month.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting occurs up to 100% of the time for brief or extended periods of time.
Lifting/Carrying occurs approximately 33% of the time. Reports, files and
supplies are the items that are primarily lifted/carried & weigh up to 2lbs.
Reaching occurs approximately 33% of the time while performing various job
duties.
Reaching mainly occurs while seated behind a desk operating various
business machines, completing paperwork, and when utilizing the phone.
The majority of reaching occurs between shoulder and waist levels. When
retrieving supplies reaching may occur above shoulder level.
Reaching also occurs when utilizing the steering wheel when driving personal
vehicle to various locations.
Handling occurs approximately 100% of the time. Both hands are utilized when
operating computer keyboard and the dominate hand is utilized when operating
10-key calculator and completing paperwork. Simple grasping when answering
telephone & when retrieving materials and supplies.
Normal or corrected to normal vision and hearing.
Talking/Communicating with management staff, subordinates, and business
clients. Must possess excellent verbal skills.
