Organization
Community MTM Services, a newly formed subsidiary of the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), the trade association for independent pharmacists, is developing a clinical case management system that brings pharmacists the right information to care for patients and advise them financially. The healthcare technology team is responsible for designing the web-based ASP service to help pharmacists schedule, consult, document and bill.

Job Description
The web application engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of a hosted, web-based system to be used daily by a large population of medical professionals. The application will be implemented on the Microsoft platform (Windows/.NET/SQL Server) using C# and ASP.NET. The application engineer will be developing core application infrastructure and user-facing functionality across all application tiers. The ideal candidate will bring to the team a deep knowledge of various development technologies and frameworks (e.g. Microsoft application blocks, 3rd party ORM frameworks, UI componentization frameworks, etc.) and will possess strong problem solving skills. The team will be borrowing from various traditional and agile methodologies to craft a unique agile development process that suits the specifics of the project. All team members must be comfortable with this hybrid approach to software delivery.

Requirements
*Bachelors degree, preferably in CS or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

*3-4 years of intensive .NET experience

*7+ years of software engineering experience focusing on web application development

*Healthcare experience is a plus

Skills
*Must be an expert in .NET web development across all application tiers

*Requires high proficiency with C#, ASP.NET and the .NET Framework, NAnt and NUnit

*Requires Strong SQL Server development experience; schema design, T-SQL & stored procedures

*Must be willing and able to implement automated unit tests using NUnit for all middleware components

*Requires knowledge and high degree of comfort with development across all application tiers: UI, service layer, business objects, data access, schema/modeling

*Must be a senior-level engineer; highly motivated and self-managed

*Requires the ability to work closely with technical and non-technical colleagues

*Must have strong verbal and written communication skills; must be comfortable working with partners and clients

*A willingness to adapt to changing business goals and employ creative thinking to solve problems.

*Preference for agile approach: lightweight documentation, iterative development and high verbal communications in a small but senior cross-functional team environment

Responsibilities

*Architect, design and implement core application infrastructure including automated unit tests

*Implement user-facing functionality to meet business requirements

*Document infrastructure where applicable
