I'm a photographer and a member of a new BNI (Business Networking International) Chapter in the East Bay, currently meeting in Oakland and called East Bay Abundant Referals (EBAR).
As a BNI chapter, we have room for one professional in each business category and refer business to each other. This way there is no competition within the group -- just people working hard to grow their, and others' businesses.
We get together once a week on Thursday morning at 7:30am to learn about each other's business and refer leads to each other. Only one person allowed per profession in the group. As BNI only permits a certain number of missed meetings per year, it's important that you are able to get to Oakland at 7:30am on Thursday mornings on a regular basis.
