JOB DESCRIPTION: Metro Tails is seeking a part-time dog walker / pet sitter to join our dynamic and dedicated team of dog and cat enthusiasts! Compensation is $9-$12/hour. Metro Tails provides paid training for all of our employees. The responsibilities for this position include:
Supervising and managing daily off-leash playgroups in San Franciscos beautiful parks
Driving a company van to pick-up/drop-off dogs for daily walks. Van will be accessible by public transportation. This position requires a lot of driving.
Attending initial client meetings, typically scheduled during weekday evenings
Supervising and managing pet sitting playgroups in the morning (7am-9am) and in the evening (6pm-8pm)
Providing overnight pet sitting services in clients homes (7pm-8am)
Administering medication to pets
Communicating with Metro Tails management and clients to ensure consistent, quality service and customer satisfaction
Assisting with various administrative and marketing tasks
ELIGIBILITY: You must meet the following requirements to be eligible for this position:
Have a passion for pets! Be enthusiastic about working with pets
Experience working with pets
Be able to supervise and manage groups of dogs both on and off leash
Be available to work during peak dog walking hours (M-F, 10am-4pm)
Be available during some week nights for initial client meetings
Have a current California drivers license, clean driving record, and ability to drive a company van
Be able to read and write well, possess strong client interaction skills, follow directions thoroughly, and maintain a professional attitude and demeanor
Be reliable, punctual, mature, dedicated, trustworthy, respectful, clean, attentive to details. Reliability and punctuality are a must!
Enjoy working outside. We work rain or shine. Cannot be afraid to get a little dirty.
Must be able to move fast on your feet. This is hard physical work.
Be willing to administer medication to animals
Be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Be physically fit and able to lift at least 50 pounds
Have reliable transportation to and from San Francisco
Be able to pass a criminal background check
Be able to commit for at least one year; we are looking for someone who will develop a loving relationship with the pets
