Seeking Animator [Flash? Other? Student?]

Title Seeking Animator [Flash? Other? Student?]
Category Art & Artists : Modern
Created 03/15/06
Description Hi, have I got a great opportunity for you! I am looking for an animator to do some fun character animation. I'm thinking Flash, but I am not opposed to other - more traditional - methods of animation. I will use the animation as the intro to my web site [but I'm not necessarily looking for someone to make a Flash web site], and also as the intro to a video demo on DVD.

What I want: a 10-12 second animation of 3 characters [two of which are really the same if that makes it easier?] "dancing/marching" across a stage. Imagine a modern version of the old "Let's All Go to the Lobby" animation that used to show in theaters a long time ago with the dancing popcorn and soda [maybe it was before your time. It was mine! :-) ], but with an unexpected twist at the end. Think irreverent and funny. Definitely more Southpark than Disney.

I will supply finished audio in whatever format you need, timings to help with synchronization, and a high-resolution still that could be used for the background - if possible [or maybe it would look better to create all in Flash or whatever?]. So you would just need to create and animate the characters. For 10-12 seconds.

Here are some sites with Flash animation that I like, although most of these are much more extensive than I'll need, but they give you an idea of the style I like [the humor of it is important to me! - I'm NOT interested in manga-esque animation!]:

http://www.cartoonsmarter.com/z_salty_graphics.html [a good example of what I'm thinking, but hopefully you don't even need to do the background - I can provide that]

http://www.cartoonsmarter.com/z_katie.html [I didn't make it through this whole animation, but you get the idea]

http://www.cartoonsmarter.com/z_dann.html [some good characters]

http://www.8legged.com [An awesome flash animation site. Click on "now playing" and then any of the episodes to the right.]

http://www.iwantmyflashtv.com [the opening welcome animation guy.]

http://www.ilustris.pl [another very cool site.]

Your work [and yes, you can sneak your name/URL somewhere on the animation - and I can credit it on the site] will be seen by lots of Advertising Agencies and creative types who could have further use for a great Flash [or whatever] Animator. So this could be great exposure for you.

This is also a great opportunity for a talented student who needs to increase their body of work. Also, when learning, having to work for a "client" [me] forces you to do things you wouldn't otherwise do, which sadly is the nature of much creative work.

I'll be posting all over, since this can be done by anyone anywhere, and of course I'll be very interested in anyone willing to do it for just the experience/exposure/clip for your demo site, but I'm willing to pay something for this too. Also, I'm a video editor, so maybe there's something I can trade with you [??]. So if this sounds like something you can and are willing to do, please email me links to examples of your work and let me know how long you think it will take and what it will cost me. Then I can send any additional information you'll need.

I probably will need some help integrating the animation into my site, and will be redoing my whole site anyway, so info on what it would take to help in that area too would be swell.

Thanks for reading all this!
