I'm searching for a very short script for my college film class (Cuyahoga Comm. College in Cleveland, Ohio). We'll produce a short picture on DV, as part of our class project. Furthermore, we'll submit this short feature to some festivals, and Internet short film sites, such as www.atomfilms.com, to be viewed around the globe. This production will be entirely done by students, under supervision by Dr. Fred Perry, class instructor. It will be directed by Bruno Tatalovic (CSU film graduate/MagnaCumLaude), who has several shorts under his belt (on film and video). His latest short film was shown at the Ohio Ind. Film Festival in 2005. This is a non-commercial/independent/non-union/student project, financed by the students themselves. Our goal is to learn, and do our best in order to make a short film that would present our individual talents, as actors and filmmakers.
About the script: 5-10 pages only (less is better). Location must be one or more of the following (underground parking lot, interior building hallways, small theater, classroom, or similar setting that could be found on colleges). Entire story can take place on one location only, such as parking lot - it would be the best solution for our "nano-budget"!) Characters: not more than 2-3 young black males, 1-2 young white males, 1-2 young black females... Or, only 2 characters total, but meeting those guidelines. We're looking for something urban/funny/cool... also, can be a bit controversial, w/some adult language and situations. We have handgun props, too. Absolutely NOT Matrix-style spec. FX, or anything that would require extensive production work/budget. Just a plain GOOD dialogue, and some movement without stunts. Anything that could be produced in one day, in the parking lot would be the best choice...
You'll get: SCREENWRITER credit, DVD of final cut, and a nice short piece to add to your writing resume.
When: We need it a.s.a.p. in order to produce it the next 2 months. Submit your script as .RTF or WORD or .TXT file.
