Okay, so you spend your rehearsals and gigs somewhere between singing and screaming, and you like it that way, but you’d also like to know that you’ll be able to keep doing it for a long time. You’re happy with the way you sound, but you worry about the health/strength/stamina of your vocal cords. Maybe you even tried taking voice lessons, but the teacher made you sing like somebody else.

Well I’m here to say, as a professional singer and voice teacher, that you CAN sing hard rock and punk vocals and still TAKE CARE OF YOUR VOICE, without jeopardizing your kick ass sound.

What I will teach you is based on exercises I learned from a Voice and Speech Therapist at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. So it’s rooted in anatomy and physiology. It encompasses laryngeal stretching (stretching the vocal cords and muscles around them), neck and shoulder stretches, facial and neck massage, lower abdominal breathing, and a series of warm-ups that, if done regularly, will keep your voice healthy for a long time.

I promise this is simple stuff, and with focus it usually takes people about 3-5 lessons to learn. Then it’s up to you to incorporate it into your daily life and practice. I GIVE YOU THE SKILLS SO YOU CAN BE INDEPENDENT.
