We provide products and development services to the world’s leading manufacturers of automobiles, medical devices, transportation equipment, building automation and factory automation systems. In automotive markets, our technologies are centered on the Controller Area Network (CAN), Local Interconnect Network (LIN) and the latest “drive-by-wire” protocol, FlexRay. In the automation markets, we offer hardware and software products for CAN and Industrial Ethernet protocols. We have recently opened a western regional office in Santa Clara, CA to develop new business and to support existing customers, and we seeking to supplement our business by adding a Sales/Field Application Engineer.
Job Description
As a Sales/Field Application Engineer, your main goal will be to provide technical consultation and application assistance to potential customers, provide technical support to existing customers and to provide training and education about our products in the filed of CAN and Industrial Ethernet.
You will work with our Business Developers and Sales staff in the mountain and pacific times zones. You will be responsible for developing technical proposals and for working with customers including recommending standard IXXAT hardware platforms and/or custom hardware designs, system design, compiling, linking, downloading, programming, debugging and testing.
Requirements
We expect to invest in training the appropriate candidate at our headquarters in Germany. However, familiarity with CAN and Industrial Ethernet communication protocols is preferred.
Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering (BSEE).
Experience in embedded systems. We work with Freescale, Atmel, Infineon, TI and other µC manufacturers.
Knowledge of Real-Time Operating Systems.
Superior communication and presentation skills are required. After training, you will be expected to deliver presentations to groups concerning our products and strategies.
Must be willing to travel the region about 50% of the time plus make 2 to 4 week trips to our corporate headquarters for training from time to time.
