Some of us from the boomer generation grew up watching the original Roller Derby games on television, even attending live games around the immediate Bay Area and beyond.
There is some saddening news regarding a well-known women's skater. She has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and with only a few months to live. The old league did not ptovide much for the future of these dedicated skaters. They played with their hearts for their large following of fans in our time.
