We are a local indie gaming company working on an original PC roleplaying game. We are looking for someone primarily to help us write branching dialogues for characters and events, and assign stat tweaks based on player choices. You must have excellent creative writing skills, some roleplaying background (including some familiarity with computer or console RPGs), and an understanding of stat mechanics and game balancing. You should have a strong feel for characterization and voice in your dialogue writing, as character development plays an important role in this game.
You will be working with a team of other writers/game designers, so you must be comfortable collaborating with others and frequently sharing your work in progress. You will also be expected to finish your own work each week independently, with mimimal supervision.
Bay Area candidates only at this point. You can do all the actual work off-site, but you will be expected to meet with us in person at least once a week. If you're qualified but don't live in the Bay Area, feel free to apply, and we may contact you in the future if we decide to widen our search.
