Basil is a 3 year old spayed and house trained female Ridgeback/Boxer mix that we found through Craigslist last August. Due to recently finding out that I'm pregnant with my 4th child we have made the very hard decision to find her a new home. She knows some basic commands like sit, stay and come. She is a wonderful dog, but requires alot of love and attention and with a new baby we won't be able to devote ourselves to her like she deserves. She is a mellow, calm and well behaved dog, but she does want to be the center of attention. She would be best suited with a single woman or a family with older kids, but a woman would be the pack leader in her eyes, so a woman would need to play an important role in Basil's everyday life. Also a dog free home would be best for her, since she doesn't get along with most dogs. There are some dogs she can get along with, but it would be easier on her and her new owner if she stayed an only dog. Like I said, she likes to be the center of attention and doesn't like the competition for your love. She would also need a large fenced in back yard. We would like to interview any one who is interested to insure that Basil will be going to a happy home.
