Goodwill Industries is currently recruiting for an Administrative Assistant III / Office Manager for its San Francisco corporate offices. As part of a management team, our MENLO PARK Store Manager is responsible for achieving sales goals through effective management of a medium retail store. Supervises the Assistant Store Managers and Sales Associates. Under the direct supervision of the District Sales Director, the Store Manager is responsible for:

• Perform basic supervisory duties. Resolve routine personnel problems focusing on achievement of desired results and attainment of sales goals. This includes correct and timely completion of employee performance appraisals, preparation of disciplinary actions, interviewing and selecting applicants according to procedure and supervising the day to day activities of the store.
• Train employees to ensure a full understanding of duties and responsibilities.
• Manage the deposit of daily store receipts and complete related record-keeping requirements.
• Manage resolution of the more complex customer questions or problems regarding prices, sales, guarantees, and merchandise specifics.
• Interface effectively with such other departments as Personnel Services, Finance, and other departments that would benefit from the interface.
• Adhere to all safety practices. Report any hazardous conditions to the Human Resources Department immediately.
• Manage scheduling of payroll hours.
• Attend training events and meetings as scheduled.
• Consult and communicate with District Sales Director on progress of program goals and other information as necessary.
• Supervise the work of clients as part of a Goodwill vocational rehabilitation/training program.
• Document the progress of client training; write reports related to the training of consumers; and attend staff meetings and conferences as required.
• Attend relevant in-service and external training.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Recruiting Classifications: Excellent interpersonal skills. 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a retail environment required. High school graduation (or equivalent) required. Requires ability to perform some lifting (to 35 lbs.). Must be familiar with Cash register & 10-key adding machine.
