Thank you for taking the time to read my ad.
I intended to stay in my current apartment for many years (I was in my previous duplex for 7 years), but unfortunately, after only 10 months, the lovely little complex it took me ages to find was sold, and shortly thereafter we were advised the new owners applied for condo conversion. So, I have to find a new home and be out of here sometime in the next 2 months.
What I'm looking for:
A quiet, peaceful, natural setting (I'm a bird and wildlife enthusiast). Wooded would be nice, and I don't mind seclusion.
One bedroom on the ground floor that's light and bright with a patio, yard, or other outdoor area.
Prefer to stay in Mountain View, but open to neighboring towns (Los Altos, Palo Alto, possibly Sunnyvale or Santa Clara) within easy reach of Caltrain.
Washer and dryer on premises (not necessarily in the apartment, but that would be a plus).
Full kitchen and full bath.
Ample closet and storage space (I have some things that can't be stored outdoors).
Prefer smaller buildings/complexes (my current apartment is in a 10-plex; I'd rather not go larger).
Pets okay (I have 4 small birds).
About me: I'm a responsible, reliable, clean, quiet, respectful adult. I'll be living alone with my birds; no wild parties, no smoking, no drugs, no drama. I'm disabled (not wheelchair-bound), so I'm home a lot, which is why I really need some sort of outdoor area.
I'm on a limited income (SSD), so I'm looking for someone open to negotiating an affordable (for me) rent in exchange for acquiring a long-term tenant. I haven't been able to apply for housing assistance because all the waitlists were closed long before I was disabled, so it would really help me to keep rent somewhere in the ballpark of the $800/mo. I pay now.
Thanks again for reading my ad. Hope to hear from my new landlord soon.
