Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (www.ggbts.edu) is a religious, nonprofit, educational institution organized for the purpose of educating Christian leaders for church-related vocations. The Seminary is regionally accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and nationally accredited by the Association of Theological Schools. The Seminary operates one residential campus and 4 regionally accredited campuses in Denver, Co; Vancouver, Washington; Phoenix, AZ; and Los Angeles, CA.

POSITION SUMMARY
Directs and coordinates seminary registration activities by performing the following duties personally or through Registrar staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Consults with other officials to devise registration schedules and procedures.
Analyzes statistical data on registration for administrative use in formulating policies.
Exchanges student information with other colleges or universities.
Learns and utilizes the Computer Management Data System (CMDS) to store, manage and analyze registration data.
Directs preparation of official student transcripts, diplomas and commencement lists.
Directs preparation of statistical reports on educational activities for government and educational agencies and interprets registration policies to faculty and students.
Directs activities of workers engaged in transcribing and evaluating academic records of students applying for permission to enter college or university.
Directs compilation of information, such as class schedules and graduation requirements, for publication in school bulletins and catalogs.
Coordinates dissemination of information on courses offered and procedures students are required to follow in order to obtain grade transcripts.
Coordinates Northern California Campus class schedules with room assignments for optimum use of buildings and equipment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises staff assigned to the Office of the Registrar, currently one full time (Associate Registrar) and two part time administrative assistants. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION
Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Ability and affinity to use the computer as a daily tool for effectiveness. Skills with WORD or Word Perfect quality word processing programs; willingness to be trained in the Seminary operations program (CMDS); familiarity with email systems and database and financial programs desirable but not necessary.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
