We currently have an opening for a Regional Benefits Clerk at our Central Administrative Office in San Francisco.
The Regional Benefits Clerk is responsible for the following:
Provide prompt and courteous explanation to employees regarding company benefits (insurance plans including medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D, disability, AFLAC, FSA, Sect 125, Sect 529, 403(b), EAP, tuition reimbursement, commuter checks), and if needed direct them to appropriate resources.
Assist in online enrollment at new hire and during life event changes
Assist in claims resolution and/or brokers resolution of claims problems/questions
Coordinate with appropriate CAO staff on new hire eligibility data to ensure employees’ timely enrollment
Responsible for maintaining, processing and compiling a variety of confidential and sensitive information.
Annual and monthly reconciliation of benefits statements and coordination of payments to vendors
Track LOA activity as related to benefits
Create insurance deduction grids for bi-weekly payroll
Quarterly reconciliation of employee premiums due versus payroll deductions.
Participation in Annual Open Enrollment process
Ensure accuracy of benefits report by auditing
Assist in special projects.
The minimum qualifications are as follows:
Associate's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Keep current with regards to applicable state and federal legislation, COBRA, HIPPA, ERISA,
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral).
Ability to create and proof original memos and correspondence.
Knowledge of Word and Excel required
Experience with ADP and PeopleSoft preferred
Must possess a high level of confidentiality to ensure privacy of department information and employee records.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent organizational and follow-up skills, a high degree of professionalism, and the ability to work under pressure, independently, and within a team environment.
Ability to work with multiple projects/tasks simultaneously, maintaining efficiency and control over projects assigned within time frames allowed and changing priorities.
