Recent UCD Graduate Seeking Administrative Assistant Position (richmond / seacliff)

Title Recent UCD Graduate Seeking Administrative Assistant Position (richmond / seacliff)
Category Real Estate : Log Homes
Created 03/15/06
Description My disciplined work ethic and extensive clerical experience would make me an ideal candidate for work as an Administrative Assistant.

I spent the last two years as a full-time student at U.C. Davis where I earned my B.S. in Pure Mathematics. Earning my degree in Mathematics was extremely challenging and as a result I learned to be organized, methodical and efficient in any task I am given. Though I have extremely well-practiced arithmetic and algebra skills, the ability to think analytically and use logic to solve problems are the abilities I have found to be most valuable in the work world.

I have several years experience working as a clerical assistant in various office settings. As a File Clerk at a private family physician’s office I oversaw the filing system for several hundred patients, and became proficient at various forms of filing and record-keeping. My methodical and efficient organizational skills have been a great asset in performing administrative duties.

Recently, I worked as a temporary Receptionist at a real estate consulting firm in San Francisco, CA. This firm was a fast-paced and high-energy environment in which to work, and my ability to multi-task effectively and keep my cool under pressure helped me to be proficient in my work there. As Receptionist, I was responsible for answering four phone lines, as well as distributing incoming mail, faxes and other correspondence, as well as other clerical duties. My ability to organize and process large amounts of information quickly became essential during my time working there.

I am familiar with the use of a PC as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and numerous web browsers. I used Excel extensively while working for an online retail sales company to create sales-analysis spreadsheets, and freight-cost analysis spreadsheets. This often involved the use of some basic arithmetic calculations and formulae.

My work experience and constant desire to learn and improve my skills would be a great contribution to any work-place.
