RE: Letter of Reference for Janice Daco

To Whom It May Concern:

Janice Daco was employed as a Student Intern with the Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District for three month assignments in 2004 and 2005. Her primary responsibilities were to assist the Engineering and Operations staff with file management tasks, data entry of inspection reports, and updating of plant CAD drawings.

Of particular importance to us was her work on organization of drawing records of District facilities that were both in digital and paper formats. She inventoried onsite drawings, acquired data from local agencies, updated and verified scanned images of construction documents in the database, reorganized our drawings library by purging tagged construction documents to be destroyed, relocated files and updated the changes in our database. This task required the use of ESRI ArcEditor, MS Access, Filemaker Pro, MS Excel, Easy CD Writer and MS Word.

On a similar assignment Janice assisted in verification and documentation of easement data relating to District facilities. In addition to the above tasks, she also produced an inventory of legal documentation (such as grant deeds and easement deeds) and construction documentation of easements.

She was responsible for data entry of contractor’s sewer inspection reports and she assisted in updating the District plant utility CAD drawing with as-built information using AutoCAD 2006.

Janice proved to be diligent and thorough. She appropriately identified questionable data to assure quality results. Her tasks were completed in a timely manner.

We are very grateful to Janice for her contributions to the District.

Sincerely,

Talyon Sortor, P.E.
