While it may be true, cops don't post ads in CE for the reasons you state, the OP was the one posting the ad, and was over 18. A supposed 16-year-old answered it, stated so, thus he was aware of this. He was of legal age, she was not.
The internet is full of predators. My hat's off to the cops for doing their jobs.
