Description Thank you to the perfect person that has never needed help in their lives. Obviously you didn't read the post very good. I do work, and I am going to school to IMPROVE my situation. I do not "breed inferior children". I have 2 very healthy, active children, that I had WHEN I WAS MARRIED TO THEIR DAD over 10 years ago; just one has special needs. He is way better than inferior. He is 5 grades ahead of his class in reading and at least 2 grades ahead in every other subject. Notice I only have TWO children. That is not breeding, and I didn't get "on the system" till my exhusband cleaned out the savings and checking accounts when he moved out almost 10 years ago. I received a small amount of assistance, which the ex was required to pay back, since he took everything, and left nothing for me to take care of the kids with. That was a long time ago, and I didn't receive any other assistance until I sustained my injuries.

I also do not "sit on my ass" waiting for my check to arrive. I work my tail off DESPITE the pain; I maintain my house, raise my kids, go to school 4 days a week AND I work a physically demanding job; and you're not the only one in the world that works 2 jobs. I've worked 2 jobs for 20 years, till I sustained major injuries in a wreck. After needing a year to recover, I went BACK TO WORK, and am still there (I've worked for this company for almost 8 years.

Sorry, I didn't ask to be in the situation I'm in; obviously you have no compassion for other people; or maybe you're just jealous that someone is getting something you're not.

Be thankful you're not where I, and many other people are.

And for the smart person that suggested I sell my computer; exactly how much do you think one would get for a used computer. Needless to say, it wouldn't be enough to pay the increase in rent for even one month; and there goes the classifieds, Monster (for job search) and other necessary reasons. And how do you know it's even my computer in the 1st place. Some people have things that they owned BEFORE they got on the system. The couple hundred bucks I could possibly get for the computer is not gonna do much in the long run, as will more education, which will hopefully lead to a job that improves our lives.

I know there are people out there that abuse the system, or are in the system for questionable reasons; it is not my place, or anyone else's to judge someone else's need. And by the way, the disability insurance payments I receive are from money I PAID INTO THE SYSTEM like everyone else does. As far as my rental assistance is concerned, again, I did not receive assistance until I was disabled. I used to pay my own rent etc. Matter of fact, I used to own a house. Unfortunately, that had to be sold when the ex took all the money. Even so, I found a small rental condo and managed my own affairs until I was injured. One shouldn't judge others until they've been in the other's shoes (situation).

I'm not asking for anyone's sympathy; just "voicing" a very real concern. We're not "losers" because life situations have challenged our means. I maintain a 3.5 GPA (grade point average) in school and as mentioned before, do everything everyone else does, I just don't have the income because of injuries to pay rent on my own right now. Hopefully when you grow up you'll realize that not everyone is the same, has the same, or wants to be the same. If I could find a way around being where I am, I'd take it. In the meantime, I'm doing the best I can with what I have, and taking steps to improve; I'm just wondering where the extra $280 a month is gonna come from.
