Description "project coordinator" = the decision maker
"project liason coordinator" = the person to ask when the decision maker isn't there
"let me get some direction for you" = I don't know, let me find someone who does
"TGIF!" = I hate this place and I can't wait to get the fuck outta here

I work for a general contractor. These examples come from when I was installing a combination aluminum and stainless steel railing in a software company in SF. The office was populated with worker drones while we were putting up the railing. One time we asked the "project laison coordinator" if a dumpster/recycling bin was available for our use or if we ought to haul away the old railing for an extra charge.

She said, "Let me get some direction for you." Rather than just calling the "project coordinator" on his cell phone and getting an answer, she made the "project coordinator" drive 30 minutes in rush hour traffic BACK to the office (he had left for the day) so that she could ask him the question, so that he could show us where the garbage and recycling cans are.

I love working construction. We get to use plain speech like "that's great", "that looks ugly", "that won't work", "he's being a jerk", "that's bullshit".

It's also much harder for someone to bandwagon on someone else's project and take credit for it. Not only is it physically difficult -- either you built it or you didn't -- it's considered poor manners to not give credit where credit is due. In my experience, honesty is sorely lacking in many office work situations.
