| Some of the responses to the OP are awfully hostile. Troll or not, I would suggest to the OP that you invest in one of those small grocery carts so that in the event that no seats are offered up to you, this would still be a solution to transporting your groceries more easily and lessening the burden that is taking its toll on your back.
