QA ENGINEER/SR QA ENGINEER - (3) openings.

Job Responsibilities:
• Key contributor to understanding and improving Meru WLAN product’s USP in Voice/Data convergence in the 802.11 WLAN space especially VoWLAN call density, QoS, Virtual AP, Zero Handoff etc
• Responsible for writing and executing test plans/cases for installation/configuration, functional/integration/regression, performance, load, stress etc for 802.11 wireless networks and their network management systems on platforms like Windows 98/NT/2000/XP, Linux and Mac O/S X
• Responsible for setup/configure wireless network (controller / Access point / STA) including signaling servers, network routers/switches/servers) for a performance lab using several real and simulated voice/data clients
• Responsible for low-level testing/debugging of the product, including setting traces at module level to debug performance related issues of the product for verification, reliability, stress, simulation, performance and conformance tests
• Responsible for testing 802.11 conformance of access points and radio switch products
• Responsible for configuring and maintaining 802.11 security servers like Microsoft IAS, Funk Steel-belted, Cisco ACS, Linux FreeRadius, Meetinghouse etc.
• This position will work closely with CTO, PM and h/w and s/w eng to test product performance and quickly identify/isolate potential competitive issues
Required skills:
• The successful candidate should have 1-3 years experience in designing/implementing and executing 802.11 wireless access point test strategies/beds/cases including hands on experience in integrating enterprise grade networking s/w and h/w solution
• In-depth knowledge of Voice over WLAN technology, protocols (SIP, SVP, Vocera, SCCP), codecs, products (DoCoMo FOMA, Hitachi WIP5000, Cisco 7920, SpectraLink, Vocera badges etc) and performance/QoS related tools (IXIA CMC/EE and Chariot, Spirent Smartbits, Sniffers (ethereal/Airopeek/Observer), IPERF/Workload) and issues (QoS, Handoff, retry attempts, rate adaptation, Jitter, Latency etc)
• Clear understanding of 802.11a/b/g WiFi standards and related components especially access points, WiFi clients/supplicants (Atheros, Broadcom, Centrino, Airport chipsets)
• Hands-on experience with Radius AAA servers and different security modes WEP/1x/WPA/WPA2/WMM
• Strong TCP/IP networking skills and experience working with 802.3 L2/Managed Switches, Ipv4/Ipv6, DHCP, ARP, NAT, DNS, VLANs, SNMP, TFTP/FTP, DSCP, HTTP, Firewalls, web servers, proxy servers, etc.
• Broad knowledge of various server Operating Systems, including Linux 2.4.x, MS Windows 2k/2003/XP, IAS Server 2000/2003;
• Solutions orientation; quality driven; execution minded; customer focused; Self starter, ability to work independently and within a team, a strong sense of urgency and go-getter attitude. Must be a team player with the mental flexibility and toughness to work effectively in a rapidly evolving field of Wireless LANs
• Quick learner with excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communications, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
