QA Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a bright, enthusiastic candidate for a full-time QA Engineer position at our San Mateo headquarters.
The QA engineer will work closely with engineering, release engineering and the business team. Specific duties include:
• Design and develop QA test plans and test cases for website and flash modules on multiple platforms.
• Execute all test plans and test cases, isolating and reporting all problems encountered.
• Perform all aspects of verification, including functional, structural/ logical, regression, and system testing.
• Manage and maintain AlphaDetail’s bug tracking system.
• Contribute to the evolution of quality assurance processes and documentation.
• Work closely with engineering, the release team, and the business team defining the system and project execution requirements.

Education / Experience
• 1 to 2 years of QA experience
• Bachelor’s degree. A computer science or technical degree is preferred.
Required Knowledge
• Deep knowledge of Windows operating systems, Netscape and IE browsers and Macintosh operating systems
• Basic knowledge of SQL
• Demonstrated ability to handle/organize multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and a focused approach to Quality Assurance
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimum guidance
• Ability to exercise judgment and work in a fast paced environment
• Consider yourself a team player and effective communicator
• Reside in the San Francisco Bay Area
• Eligible to work in the United States
