Project Writers Unite: Coffeehouse Readings (Looking For Writers)

Title Project Writers Unite: Coffeehouse Readings (Looking For Writers)
Category Boats
Created 03/15/06
Description Project Writers Unite, in association with Arts First Oakland, in keeping with our club objective, to give writers a place to find help and/or resources to get their work out to the world, is putting together a series of readings for NEW writers called The Coffeehouse Readings Series. These invitational events will showcase poetry, story stories, novels, plays, screenplays, and songs from PWU members as well as other up and coming writers from the greater bay area. We are interested in finding new writers to showcase for our next reading.

The purpose of these readings are to get the work of new writers (members and non-members alike) out to the community, to get the word out about Project Writers Unite and hopefully gain more recognition as well as get new members, and finally, to outreach to the community and show to others how much fun writing can be.

Our next Coffeehouse Reading will be on March 20th, 2006. For criteria on how to take part in this series please visit our website at: http://www.angelfire.com/ultra/projectwritersunite/

Project Writers Unite (PWU) welcomes writers of all levels and writing mediums: playwrights, screenwriters, poets, novelist, short story writer, lyricist, etc. We're here to develop an open, non-threatening environment for all writers to create beautiful works as well as to be a resource for those looking for collaborators for joint works, and to help share your work(s) with the world.

We will meet every 3rd Monday of the month starting at First Congregational Church, 2501 Harrison Street, Oakland. Meetings begin at 7pm.

If you are interested in participating in this event, know someone who would be interested, or would like more information about The Coffeehouse Reading Series or Project Writers Unite, please contact James (our humble president).
