Primary duties include planning and implementing special interest classes, seasonal programs and special events for youth and teens; coordinating purchase of program supplies and equipment; and providing highly organized and responsible assistance and support to the Youth and Teen Program Coordinators. Flexible schedule, includes some evenings and weekends. 15-20 hrs per week; not to exceed 1000 hours per fiscal year.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of: Recreational programs, developmentally-appropriate group activities, arts and crafts, games and sports; applicable health and safety regulations; First Aid; record keeping practices and procedures; modern office practices, procedures and equipment; basic mathematical computations.
Ability to: Understand and follow oral and written directions; compose correspondence, brochures, flyers and other informational documents; provide information to the public in person, by telephone, or through written correspondence where judgment, knowledge and interpretive skills may be required; communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and members of the public. Ability to Lift 30 lbs. Performs duties within OSHA standards. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Applicant must be at least 18 years old. Graduation from HS or equiv. w/college level coursework completed in Recreation, Physical Education or related field is preferred. Possession of a Class C California driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
