Through its area offices in Richmond, Concord, Antioch and Brentwood, the Council offers information, programs and services designed to support and empower parents and child care providers. The Council also educates decision makers and the general public about child care trends and issues.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Program Assistant is responsible for a variety of administrative duties and general office support to both the R & R and Subsidy programs, as well as providing assistance to the Area Manager. In addition, the Program Assistant is responsible for ensuring the general office upkeep of the Area Office.
SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. R & R Duties:
1. Maintain and report monthly/quarterly information on Licensing Orientation, Business Start-up, and Learning Through Play meetings.
2. Compile and maintain site visits data for county and city contracts.
3. Provide backup for R & R referrals.
4. Assist Area Office staff with coordination of provider’s development training.
B. Subsidy Duties:
1. Maintain and process all TrustLine applications/clearances/denials in database and hard copy files.
2. Assist with filing provider licenses, NOAs Certificates, termination notices, etc.
C. General Office Responsibilities:
1. Assist Area Manager with general office safety and upkeep.
2. Maintain office supplies inventory, and recommend purchases.
3. Answer incoming telephones when Office Assistant is not available.
4. Help to prepare flyers for Directors’ Luncheons and teachers’ workshops.
5. Assist with filing and copying, as needed.
D. Administrative Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for completion of monthly data report.
2. Assist Area Manager with correspondence.
3. Reconcile petty cash, disburse, and record all transactions.
4. Deposit and record all incoming money and forward to Fiscal Department all paperwork from rent, sales, parent fees, and provider services.
5. Assume responsibility to update Co-Connect Calendar.
Qualifications:
· A.A. degree and/or two years’ experience in office management position.
· Knowledge of Child Development.
· Excellent oral and written skills.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Basic typing and word processing skills.
· Computer literacy.
