Serus has a full time non-contract position for a Professional Services Engineer. The person will be responsible for installing, deploying and configuring the entire Serus Product suite throughout its customer base. The ideal candidate will also be involved in developing scripts for product updates both on the application and the database side. Other responsibilities include maintaining a list of customers, product version / release numbers, support and notifying customers before new product releases.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establish and update standards and procedures for release management to guarantee a repeatable process for deploying builds into customer Stage and Production environments
• Work with QA Team to ensure Development, QA and Staging environments are in sync with production and refreshed when needed. Work with QA to facilitate verification of releases.
• Own, establish and drive the build/release/configuration tools, system and process of enterprise software product
• Develop and maintain Ant and shell scripts for building and deploying product at customer base
• Work with the Customer IT and business groups to understand the requirements in order to make necessary configuration changes.
• Configure modules and data at the customer sites by modifying the xml configuration files, scripts and other admin tools.
• Collaborate with development team in assembling internal & external software releases.
• Produce release notes & other build related documentation.
• Coordinate with developers, testers, and DBAs to execute SQL scripts to modify database schemas and test data
• Maintain a list of customer accounts and the product versions at the customer base
• Notify customers with about releases and software updates
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science and 4 years of equivalent work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Deep knowledge of Java, J2EE, Oracle databases, SQL Scripts, Script (UNIX Shell, Perl, Python, ANT, etc) Programming, XML, HTML, Java Script and complete life cycle of application development.
• Experience deploying into production environments REQUIRED
• Experience in a client facing role as part of a professional service organization.
• Have the ability to communicate within the different environments
• Experience in deploying software to different platforms like UNIX, Windows, SUN etc.
