Financial Engines is experiencing rapid growth of our business, and are seeking a Product Manager to support this growth. We now have over $3 billion in assets under management, up from $1 billion at the beginning of the 2005—and will have more rapid growth of our managed account business in 2006. To date, Financial Engines has rolled out managed accounts for our Fortune 500 firms such as Goodyear, JCPenney, Motorola and Nissan, representing more than 494,000 participants and $28.5 billion in plan assets. We partner with leading 401(k) providers such as Vanguard, JPMorgan/RPS, and CitiStreet.
As Product Manager for our Core Platform, you will be in a highly visible role guiding a team charged with developing software tools for our Service Delivery and Portfolio Mgt teams. They will be used to run all aspects of our managed accounts program, towards specific efficiency, productivity, and fiduciary goals. Your goals are to speed time to market when rolling out with various provider partners while simultaneously focusing on reducing our on-going program cost across providers.
The right candidate must be a proven team player with excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
§ Specifying requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to your internal customers and external customers.
§ Driving a solution set across development teams, effectively managing tradeoffs through the development cycle.
§ Analyzing customer and partner usage for your products, incorporating their feedback/enhancement requests.
REQUIREMENTS
§ 1-3 years of product management experience (or similar experience such as business analyst)
§ Working knowledge of software development processes, extremely helpful.
§ 1-3 years of Investment Management or Retirement industry experience is a large plus, particularly experience with operational processes/applications needed to support them.
§ Experience with Jumbo/Large Plan Providers such as Vanguard, JPM/RPS, T. Rowe Price, etc., a large plus.
§ Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and follow-up
§ Ability to excel in a fast paced and deadline driven environment.
§ Self-starter
This position requires some travel (10-15%).
