Job Description:
Protecting over 300 million email accounts, IronPort’s Email Security Appliance portfolio is the leading email security solution for organizations of all sizes. IronPort provides innovative and high performance products for those faced with the task of managing and protecting their mission-critical networks from Internet threats.
IronPort is currently looking for a Product Manager to provide product management leadership for IronPort’s Email Security Appliances. This responsibility ranges from increasing the market penetration of existing products to developing new products for the company. The product manager leads a cross-functional team of engineering, QA, marketing, operations and sales to build, launch and deliver the product into the market. The successful candidate must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. He or she must enjoy spending time in the marketplace to understand customer problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Managing the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
•Developing requirements for current and future products by visits to customers and prospects and market research.
•Lead feature development in the product development organization.
•Perform competitive analysis and publish results internally.
•Create product pricing model. Analyze profitability of product line.
•Support sales efforts as required (25% of time) including some travel.
•Create training materials. Train direct and indirect sales force and customers.
•Create product documentation as required.
•Generate content for outbound marketing material – i.e. copy for brochures, whitepapers, etc.
•Developing and implementing go-to-market plans, working with all departments to execute.
Required Experience and Skills:
•BA/BS (business, marketing, or engineering preferred) MBA or equivalent preferred.
•3 - 5 years experience in driving efforts in a related field such as product marketing, operations, or within a technology organization.
•Prior experience in networking security a plus.
•Highly organized, detail-oriented and possessing a high level of integrity.
•Exceptional team player that works well in collaborative situations and start-up environments.
•Strong written and oral communication skills required.
•Familiar with internet technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, etc).
