The truth is, most cannot tell the difference between Pro Tools LE or HD. But, you can tell the difference between what is coming out of different studios. All of this gear stuff doesn't matter. Most of you would never be able to get a job at a major studio anyway. It's hard as fucking hell. The fact is, many learn the craft, and many do it for a living, but very few have the talent "the gift". Just like anything else in the world, there are exceptional guitarists, exceptional singers, and exceptional engineers. Every house hold could have Pro Tools of some kind, but only a small percentage will have "the gift". It's no different now than it was 20 years ago. Some professionals do take issue with Pro Tools operators passing themselves off as engineers, but don't worry, the hacks will not hurt your business. You know who they are; they're the ones advertising everyday; they're the ones not getting past go; they're the ones with the cloudy, smudged out, over-compressed mixes; they're the ones with another day job; they''re the ones who ain't doin' shit, etc, etc, etc.
