Preschool /School Age Teacher
Opened in 1978, we are a private developmental preschool located in Los Altos. We enjoy an excellent reputation, with full classes and constant waiting lists. Our school is a fairytale environment for both children and teachers alike. Our goal is to foster a love for learning in each child by combining theories from Piaget and Montessori while teaching to California's Desired Results. Teachers prepare most activities during school prep hours but some preparation is completed at home.
Requirements / Qualifications:
• This is a full time position (approximately 7:30-4:00)
• This position begins ASAP
• Must be dedicated, energetic, creative, flexible, love and respect children, as well as be a team player who works well with others
• Communicate effectively with parents and other teachers.
• A long term commitment is essential.
• We require 12+ECE units and a BA would be a plus, but not required.
• Willingness to learn successful teaching strategies is a must!
Teacher Responsibilities will include:
• Working with a team of professional and dedicated teachers to provide a beautiful learning environment
• Annually writing assessment reports of children's progress (strong written and verbal communication skills necessary)
• Preparing age appropriate art projects in the morning and lesson plans and curriculum in the afternoon (we offer an array of teacher resources and a wealth of art materials)
