Skytown Parent Cooperative Preschool in Kensington is seeking a skilled and nurturing Director/Teacher. The school was founded over 30 years ago and is a play-based program located in a large, sunny indoor/outdoor space. The school prides itself on providing a high ratio of adults to children. The toddler program includes children at 18 months and maintains a ratio of one adult for every three children. The preschool program includes children at 33 months and maintains a ratio of one adult for every four children. We currently serve 50 families. This Director/Preschool Teacher will be responsible for general operations of the school, budget and personnel management, and serving as a member of the Board of Directors, as well as performing the duties of Preschool Teacher.
Requirements:
• Fully director qualified in accordance with current licensing requirements.
• 24 ECE units, a degree in early childhood education, at least 5 years teaching experience, and supervisory experience.
• Committed to working in a parent-cooperative, environment.
• Good communication skills, problem solving, priority setting, and overall organization skills, as well as a positive and professional attitude.
• Good fiscal and budget skills.
