| Greetings! I am emptying out an estate, and I have an 1859 (patent) Steinway and Sons Model D "pianoforte" to sell. It is in a rosewood case, with exquisite carving to the legs, complete with a pedal lyre, music rack, and stool. This particular piano was made in the 1860s. Its serial number embossed inside the coverr is 13857. I have read descriptions of this very same model on the internet that boasts about how this piano was constructed, giving it a very beautiful tone. It was tuned last November, marked on the inside of the piano. The piano is in fantastic condition, it certainly doesn't look like it is old by the wear on the cabinet. It is not mint, but it is in pretty damn good shape for its age, you'd be surprised. Restored, it just sold for $17,000. It sounds in tune to my ear as I hear others and myself play it. I do know that the tuning of this older model will be special, not every piano tuner will know how to tune it. If you are serious about antique pianos and would like to see and hear this beauty, please give me a call. I will take the best offer. Cash only. You will have to arrrange moving this piano; it's legs come off. This won't be easy (I know I'm not supposed to be mentioning negatives, but I've got to be honest. Line up some professionals to move this). If interested, please call 510.235.7581 (first) and 510.932.9272 (second) between 8 am and 10 pm and leave a message if noone answers, leave your name and number and I'll get right back to you. If you are reading this ad, don't assume it has sold yet. I remove ads once things sell. THanks! Cash only.
