Primary Job Responsibilities

• Monitoring and Governance: Review on a timely basis the various reports and logs available. Investigate and report on noted irregularities. Tie in with QA to define tests before production acceptance that will eliminate known prior and potential future deficiencies from a product security perspective. Interact with third parties to perform white hat attacks and overall security analysis of the site. Develop an overall security monitoring infrastructure that can alert 24x7 personnel from a “single pane of glass” that there is a potential issue.
• Policies: Development of security policies for PayPal’s production systems.
• Platform/Product Security Architecture: Develop a security architecture addressing the business need.
• Regulatory and Governmental Influence: Interact with local, state and Federal law enforcement, regulatory and legislative entities as they relate to Internet security policies and laws.
• Industry/Business Influence: Build and maintain a network of peers throughout global industry wherein information is exchanged regarding ideas and issues as they relate to information security.
• Public Responsibility: Represent PayPal’s security interests to the public. Interact with PayPal Public Relations and the Trust and Safety group to represent PayPal as a safe and trustworthy place to do business.
• Critical contributor in the due diligence process for M&A and partnering opportunities.
• Industry Change/Direction: Maintain awareness of changes in the industry, such as: regulatory/legal; technology; and best practices in process
• Engage with other eBay, Inc. security and privacy teams to ensure coordination of effort and appropriate overall security for the firm.

Job Requirements

• A strong technical foundation and significant exposure to information technology
• Very strong leadership and program management skills.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and negotiation skills at all levels.
• Experienced and motivated to participate at speaking engagements, industry forums and conferences
• The ability to comprehend the technical issues and point out risks and alternatives.
• Ability to function effectively in a fast paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
